Privacy Policy
Your financial data stays on your device. We do not collect it, sell it, or share
it with anyone.
1. Who We Are
Balance is developed and maintained by Muhammed Shahir. Throughout this Privacy Policy, “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to Balance and its developer. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at the support address listed at the bottom of this document.
2. What Data Balance Accesses
2.1 Financial Data You Enter
All transaction records, account names, balances, categories, budgets, and notes you enter into Balance are created by you and stored only on your device. This data is never transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any servers that store your personal financial data.
2.2 iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you are signed into iCloud on your device and iCloud backup is enabled in iOS Settings, iOS may automatically back up your app data to your personal iCloud account as part of the standard iOS device backup. This backup is governed entirely by Apple’s Privacy Policy (apple.com/privacy). We do not have access to your iCloud account or any data stored there.
2.3 SMS Messages (Optional Feature)
Balance includes an optional feature that can read SMS messages from your device to help automatically detect and import bank transaction notifications. This feature:
*Only activates when you explicitly open the SMS import screen and grant permission.
*Reads only messages you select or that match bank transaction patterns.
*Does not transmit any SMS content off your device.
*Processes all SMS data entirely on-device.
You can decline this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → SMS.
2.4 Currency Exchange Rates
When you use the currency conversion feature, Balance makes a network request to a third-party exchange rate provider to fetch current rates. This request does not include any of your personal financial data — it is a simple rate lookup (e.g. “what is the USD to EUR rate today”). The response (the exchange rate) is stored locally on your device.
2.5 Subscription and Purchase Information
Balance offers optional paid subscriptions (Monthly and Yearly) processed entirely through Apple’s in-app purchase system (StoreKit). We never see, store, or handle your payment card details or billing address. Apple manages all payment processing. The only information we receive from Apple is confirmation of whether a valid subscription is active, so we can unlock premium features.
Apple’s handling of your payment data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy
(apple.com/privacy).
2.6 Widgets
Balance includes home screen widgets that display summaries of your financial data. Widget data is stored in a shared App Group container on your device and is never transmitted externally. It is only accessible by the Balance app and its widget extension, both installed from the same App Store download.
2.7 Multiple Profiles
If you use the multiple profiles feature, all profile data is stored locally on your device, separated by profile identifiers. Profile data is not synced between devices or shared withus.
3. What Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:
Your name, email address, or any other personal identifier.
Your transaction history, account balances, or any financial records.
Your location.
Your contacts.
Your device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar).
Any analytics or usage telemetry about how you use the app.
Crash reports (unless you explicitly submit a report through Apple’s system).
Any advertising data.

We do not use any advertising networks, social media SDKs, analytics platforms, or tracking tools.
5. Data Storage and Security
All financial data you enter is stored in your device’s local storage, protected by iOS’s built- in security including device passcode encryption and Face ID / Touch ID. We have no technical ability to access this data because it never leaves your device. If you delete the Balance app from your device, all locally stored app data is permanently deleted by iOS.
6. Children’s Privacy
Balance is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our app, please contact us so we can address it.
7. Your Rights
Because we do not collect or store any personal data about you on our servers, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. All your data lives on your own device and is entirely under your control.
If you wish to delete all your data:
* Delete the Balance app from your device (this removes all local data).
* If you use iCloud backup, delete the app’s backup data from iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Backups.
For subscription management, visit iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions to cancel or modify your plan at any time.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Continued use of Balance after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
