Every transaction, account, budget, note, category, and receipt you add to Balance is stored locally on your iPhone. None of it passes through a server we own or operate. We simply don’t hold a copy of your financial data, there’s nothing on our end to lose, leak, or hand over.
No sign-up, no ads, no tracking
There’s nothing to sign up for. Balance never asks for an email address, a phone number, or any kind of registration to use the app. There are no advertising networks and no third-party analytics built into Balance. Your financial activity is never used to build a profile of you, and it never leaves your device to be sold or shared.
Backups stay private too
Turn on iCloud backup, and Balance saves an encrypted copy to your own private iCloud storage, a space only you and Apple can reach, not us. It’s encrypted at rest and in transit by iCloud, and end-to-end encrypted if you’ve turned on Advanced Data Protection. Every Apple ID gets its own separate, isolated backup, so it never mixes with anyone else’s. Prefer to hold a copy yourself? Create a manual backup any time, protected with a password only you know and encrypted with AES-256, the same standard used by financial institutions. That file is yours to keep, move, or send wherever you’d like.
Archived, not deleted
Archiving a bank, cash, or asset account tidies it out of your everyday view. It doesn’t touch the underlying data. Archived accounts stay fully intact and are included in every backup, exactly like active ones, until the moment you choose to delete them yourself.
Bank messages, read on your terms
Paste in a bank text message or notification, and Balance can pull out the amount, merchant, and category for you. Nothing is scanned automatically and nothing is read in the background, only a message you actively choose to paste is ever looked at, and that happens entirely on your device. The message itself is never sent anywhere.
Hide everything, instantly
Privacy Mode masks every balance and amount across the whole app with a single tap, useful the moment someone glances at your screen.
Kept separate, always
Set up Balance for both Personal and Business use, and each stays completely separate, its own transactions, its own accounts, its own history. Nothing crosses over.
